“a life’s work” an open-studio invitation to see and explore the work of the brooklyn cottage’s first artist-in-residence

As part of GO, an inaugural community-curated open studio project organized by The Brooklyn Museum in conjunction with some 1800 local artists, The Brooklyn Cottage was pleased to offer the public “A Life’s Work,” the current project of its first Artist-in-Residence, Yazmany Arboleda.

“Through multiple formats which include video portraits and community happenings, I engage people in cities big and small on every continent, to shed light on the way our lives are shaped by our work,” explains Yazmany. “I seek witnesses to the inexorable blur between past and present, social spaces and private feelings, hope and regret. My practice uses art to get to the human truths that trace the arc of our lives and bind us together.”
