cocktail alchemy Learn how to infuse spirits–and uplift yours while doing so, with mixologist & perfumer julianne zaleta

straw
Kick off your Memorial Day weekend early–with a lesson in cocktail alchemy.  Join The Brooklyn Cottage and Julianne Zaleta,  a celebrated local perfumer who’s expanded her business to include mixology classes at The Brooklyn Brainery and Observatory in Park Slope, as together we learn to create sublime artisanal cocktails with the infusion of fresh herbs, spices, nuts, dried fruits and grains into various spirits. Julianne will then show us how to pair these spirits with mixers–adding a dash of essential oil as a finishing touch.
Basil vodka, yuzu, black pepper and tonic? That’s a refreshing concoction of Julianne’s called The Sprite. Students will also get to sample her lemon verbena, chocolate mint and toasted hazelnut vodka, as well as her homemade creme de cacao, and learn how to make these on our own time.
You’ll be the hit of the party all summer long and for every season to come!
So ladies, slip on your favorite cocktail dress (and men, whatever suits). Enjoy the Brooklyn Cottage garden, cocktails in hand, following your lesson, and on departure receive special recipes for Julianne’s drink creations along with  a select list of Jenny’s favorite Prospect Heights restaurants for continuing on to dinner.
